The Montana Ice Breaker Road Race is a marathon run for joggers, runners, walkers featuring three distance races. But before runners stretch and hit their marks, dozens of volunteers are working behind the scenes to get the annual Ice Breaker road race off to a successful start.
Great Falls Park & Recreation is looking for volunteers to help out on race day, Sunday April 24.
Three volunteers are needed to help with race packet pickup at the Civic Center convention center. The shifts are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other volunteers are needed to help control traffic, hand out water at stations and hand out metals at the finish line. Those volunteers will report to the convention center between 11 and 11:30 a.m. and will be needed until between 2:30 and 4 p.m.
Volunteers will get a long-sleeved Ice Breaker t-shirt and lunch on Sunday. To volunteer call Becky or Sherri at 771-1265.
