Day of Caring 2016!

Calendar Happens On Oct 21, 2016
Expired

Description

United Way of Cascade County is recruiting volunteers -- both teams and individuals -- who will spend one morning completing house projects that seniors and disabled homeowners are unable to do themselves.

The annual Day of Caring will be Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In partnership with the local chapter of the American Red Cross and Great Falls Fire & Rescue, this year United Way has expanded to the Day of Caring this year to help install as many as 400 free smoke alarms.

Volunteers gather at the Great Falls Fire and Rescue Training Center, 1901 9th St. S., at 9 a.m., collect supplies and addresses and then fan out across the city.

Volunteers rake leaves, trim trees, clean gutters and do some light home maintenance for 40 elderly or disabled homeowners in Great Falls that are unable to do such things for themselves.

United Way partners with Aging Services and Meals on Wheels to identify homeowners who could use this service.
