The Backpack4Kids Program provides take-home meals for underprivileged children, grades K-6, in all Cascade County elementary schools. Volunteers help prepare food items for the backpacks throughout the week for kids in schools to receive before weekends or breaks in school. This is a year round opportunity.
There are no specific qualifications to volunteer with the food bank. They prefer volunteers to be above the age of 10 with some exceptions. The Food Bank is open from 7am-3pm, Monday-Friday so volunteers must be able to work within open hours. Volunteers can volunteer as little or as much as they want to based on what is available and needed. Volunteers can come in one time or they can set up regular days and times.
To volunteer, contact any of the Food Bank staff and they will connect you with the right people to get started! You can call the office at (406) 452-9029. Messaging the Great Falls Food Bank on Facebook also works.
