Who We Are
Mission: To provide critical resources and compassionate assistance to individuals and families in need throughout the North Central Montana region, in alignment with the values of the international St. Vincent de Paul Society.
SVDP is dedicated to assisting local area low-income people in need, half of which are children and seniors. Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering. Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. SVDP collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served, because in them Vincentians see the face of Christ.
What We Do
SVDP operates a Thrift Store, Food Pantry, and Angel Services, which provides free items to people in need. Thrift store proceeds go to cover the over head costs of our entire operation. Our food pantry serves the poor in assisting them with food and general items of necessity. The food pantry distributes an average of 28,000 pounds of food to an average of 600 families each month. Our Angel Services gives away clothing, Household goods, and Furniture to those in need. Applicants need to apply through Opportunities Incorporated to get a voucher to shop at our Angel Store. We also have shower and laundry facilities available at no cost.
Our attitude at SVDP is to never to turn anyone away who needs help. If we cannot help someone with their problem, we accompany them to the proper resources. Volunteers can work either in our food pantry, warehouse, store, or offices. If you have a special project or cause, St. Vincent de Paul can be your vehicle to helping our community in any direction your imagination can take us.
