The Maclean Animal Adoption Center is seeking volunteers to help with the care and socialization of its animal guests. The goal is to provide adoptable cats with exercise, human contact, and mental stimulation.
Duties:
- Socialize and exercise adoptable cats
- Maintain a sanitary kennel environment
- Interact with the cats, staff, and other volunteers in a professional manner
- Positively represent the MCAAC
Training:
- Complete the Volunteer Application
- Attend Orientation
- Complete Volunteer Agreement
- Attend Cat Specific Training sessions 2 and 3
Commitment:
Brushing- Our cats need daily stimulation and brushing. Pet and groom cats in their kennel or in the cat visiting room. Brushes are provided.
Enrichment- Our cats can become bored. Giving them new toys or making treat enrichment items for them is a great way to get them thinking and moving around. Toys and supplies are provided.
Schedule: 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday. Schedule will be divided into openings of 10:00AM-12:15, 12:30-3:00, and 3:15-6:00PM. Each opening will have 4 slots available- 2 slots for Cat Volunteers and 2 slots for Dog Volunteers. (We can no longer accommodate more than 4 volunteers at any one time)

Supervision: Must be 10 years or older to interact with cats WITH supervision; must be 16 years or older to interact with cats WITHOUT supervision.
