The Serving & Table Support Team ensures guests enjoy a seamless dining experience by preparing accompaniments, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and serving the freshly cooked crab boil. Volunteers in this role are welcome to enjoy the crab boil fixings during the event and will be provided adult beverages from the catered bar (outside alcohol is not permitted). Ideal volunteers are friendly, service-oriented individuals who enjoy hospitality and teamwork, can carry trays confidently, and are willing to assist with both serving and kitchen clean-up. Clear serving instructions, supplies, and guidance will be provided.

 

Key Duties:

·       Prepare and distribute butter for crab service.

·       Light tea candles on guest tables before dinner service.

·       Serve crab boil to guest tables once cooking is complete.

·       Keep tables replenished for the “all you can eat” portion of the meal.

·       Empty trash bins from tables regularly during meal service.

·       Assist with kitchen clean-up at the end of the event, including:

·       Returning unused food to proper storage units.

·       Washing dishes, utensils, and equipment used.

·       Preliminary kitchen cleaning (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces)

The Cook Staff (Men’s Team) are responsible for preparing and cooking the highlight of the evening — the crab pots! This team ensures the crab boil is cooked to perfection and ready to be served to our guests. Volunteers in this role are welcome to enjoy the crab boil fixings during the event and will be provided adult beverages from the catered bar (outside alcohol is not permitted). Ideal volunteers are physically strong, team-oriented individuals who enjoy cooking, can safely manage heavy equipment, and are willing to help with both food prep and kitchen clean-up. Clear cooking instructions, safety guidance, and supplies will be provided.

 

Key Duties:

·       Cook and monitor crab pots during the event.

·       Safely move and transport crab pots from cooking stations to the serving area.

·       Assist in preparing crab boil portions for service to guest tables.

·       Maintain safety standards while handling hot equipment and food.

·       Assist with kitchen clean-up at the end of the event, including:

·       Returning unused food to proper storage units.

·       Washing dishes, utensils, and equipment used.

·       Preliminary kitchen cleaning (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces).

Ballroom Clean-Up Volunteers ensure the event space is returned to order by helping clear, organize, and reset the area. Their work helps the venue return to normal quickly and efficiently. We need individuals who enjoy working with a team, don’t mind physical activity, and want to help wrap up the event with a sense of accomplishment. Guidance and cleaning supplies will be provided.

 

Key Duties:

Break down tables, chairs, and event decorations.Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.Assist with packing event supplies.Sweep, vacuum, or wipe down surfaces as needed.

Kitchen Clean-Up Volunteers help restore the kitchen area after the event so the space is left tidy, sanitized, and ready for use. This role ensures food service areas are properly cleaned and organized. We’re looking for individuals who don’t mind rolling up their sleeves, enjoy teamwork, and are detail-oriented when it comes to tidiness and sanitation. Cleaning supplies and instructions will be provided.  

Key Duties:

Wash, dry, and put away dishes, utensils, and serving items. Wipe down counters, tables, and equipment. Take out trash and recycling. Sweep and mop floors to ensure the area is thoroughly cleaned. Assist with packing leftover supplies and organizing kitchen items.

Silent Auction Raffle Ticket Sellers play an important role in generating excitement and participation in our fundraising efforts. Volunteers will actively engage with guests throughout the evening, encouraging them to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win while supporting a great cause. Ideal volunteers are outgoing, energetic individuals who enjoy engaging with others and are comfortable initiating conversations. Perfect for volunteers who like to keep moving, interact with guests, and help create excitement around fundraising. Volunteers will be briefed on raffle procedures, ticket sales process, and talking points before the doors open.

 

Key Duties:

Sell silent auction raffle tickets at the silent auction tables.Explain raffle details, including ticket prices, prize opportunities, and how proceeds benefit the event.Encourage guest participation in a fun and approachable way.Track and manage ticket sales accurately.Answer questions and provide directions to raffle entry locations if needed.

Live Auction Spotters play an exciting and interactive role in ensuring the live auction runs smoothly. They help the auctioneer by keeping track of bidder activity, encouraging audience participation, and making sure no bid goes unnoticed. The ideal volunteers for this position are energetic, outgoing individuals with strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with groups. A good fit for volunteers who enjoy being in the action and helping keep the energy high. Spotters will be given instructions prior to the auction and work closely with the auctioneer and MC.

 

Key Duties:

Identify and signal bids from attendees during the live auction.Communicate clearly with the auctioneer to ensure bids are recognized promptly.Engage with guests to encourage participation and maintain excitement in the room.Assist with clarifying bidder names and amounts when needed.

This position ensures our guests have a smooth experience from the moment they arrive until the time they leave. Volunteers will greet attendees, provide important event information, handle payments, and enter guest information into our system. This role requires friendliness, accuracy, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. The ideal volunteer is friendly, detail-oriented individuals who enjoy both engaging with people and working with systems. Volunteers should be comfortable multitasking, handling transactions, and entering data with accuracy. Volunteers will receive training on check-in, payment software, and data entry upon arrival before the doors open.

Greet attendees warmly and check them in quickly and efficiently.Share event details, including games, raffles, and the special drawing entry at their seat.Collect completed door prize entries from tables.Enter attendee demographics from the door prize cards into the event software system.Process payments at check-out and confirm all transactions are accurate.Assist with end-of-night wrap-up to ensure all entries and accounting are complete.

Join us in making the Crab Boil a great night out as a games volunteer! Build curiosity and fun by selling entries for the Mystery “Let’s Make a Deal” game. Volunteers should have outgoing personalities who enjoy sparking curiosity and fun. Please note that volunteers will be on their feet for several hours. Enjoy the excitement of the Crab Boil as you move through the crowd and sell 50/50 raffle tickets to attendees. You’ll be helping keep the energy up while raising funds for local programs. We’re looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy encouraging participation. Please note that volunteers will be on their feet for several hours. You will receive an overview of duties upon arrival before the doors open.

Walk the event space selling tickets. Promote the chance to win big while supporting the cause.

Games are a key part of the fun of the Crab Boil and you can help keep the fun going! Add energy to the evening by selling bingo cards at the start, then switching to Heads or Tails card sales. This position is great for people who are organized, quick with handling cash/tickets, and comfortable engaging with groups. Please note that volunteers will be on their feet for several hours. You will receive an overview of duties upon arrival before the doors open.

·       Sell bingo cards to guests as they arrive.

·       Transition to selling Heads or Tails cards later in the event.

Add to the fun of the Crab Boil by keeping the energy up and our guests excited! Support the fundraising fun by selling tickets for the men’s raffle. This position is great for people who are sociable and enjoy interacting with event attendees. Please note that volunteers will be on their feet for several hours. You will receive an overview of duties upon arrival before the doors open.

Our Crab Boil isn’t just about great food—it’s about fun, community, and raising funds to make a difference. During the event, we need enthusiastic volunteers to keep the energy high and the games running smoothly. Help raise funds and excitement by selling tickets for the women’s raffle. This position is great for people who are friendly and comfortable starting conversations. Please note that volunteers will be on their feet for several hours. Great for those who enjoy creating a fun, welcoming environment and don’t mind a bit of lifting or teamwork. Volunteers serving over the lunch hour will receive a free meal.

Set up tables, chairs, and all the crab boil fixings for guest dining. Arrange silent and live auction display tables.Assist with decorations and ensure everything looks festive. Help wash dishes if needed for table setup.

Help get everything ready for our famous Crab Boil by assisting with food preparation the day before the event. This position is perfect for anyone who enjoys working with food, doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves, and wants to be part of the “behind-the-scenes” team that makes the Crab Boil possible

 

Key Duties:

Break crab legs into smaller pieces for cooking.Wash and cut potatoes, slice sausage, and prep corn on the cob.Assist with pulling shrimp to thaw and other prep tasks as needed.
