Yours, Mine, Ours: Let's Unite to Keep Kids Safe is a community-wide shared responsibility campaign focused on raising awareness and action for prevention of child abuse and neglect in our local community. It is a result of work undertaken by the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (P-CAN) committee that was formed through the work of the Community Health Improvement Plan Coalition. P-CAN consists of representatives from multiple community organizations and non-profits across Cascade County. This campaign incorporates tools of community-wide messaging to share specific statistics and stories of current rates of child abuse and neglect, but simultaneously moves beyond sharing the facts to providing concrete means in which to be part of the community solution. Community members are encouraged to commit to doing at least one thing more to contribute to building a safe environment for children, such as volunteering at different community organizations, becoming a CASA volunteer, or committing to become a foster home.
