Join the Salvation Army in providing care and support to low income children that need help with reading and their homework. Volunteers will need to pass a background check and complete child safety training before serving. Volunteers will assist children with reading and homework, supervise activities, prepare snacks and attend outings. Staff will be on hand to supervise volunteers.

The program runs Mondays to Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. so there are a variety of days to choose from. There is no minimum or maximum commitment.

Volunteers are needed at Salvation Army to help pick up and receive food donations, stock food bank shelves and pack food boxes, assist clients with taking food to their cars. Potential volunteers must pass a background check. Anyone wishing to serve should be able to stand on concrete floors for extended periods, be able to bend some and do some lifting.

Volunteers are needed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to noon. Shifts vary so you can chose what day and time works for you. All volunteers will receive basic warehouse safety training and be supervised by staff.
