United Way of Cascade County wants to put your creative and crafty skills to use at a kids’ carnival on Make a Difference Day.
Interested volunteers would be asked to create and manage a station featuring a fun educational or physical game for pre-K and elementary-age kids. Games could be a classic ring toss or ask kids to throw a penny on different colored circles – let your imagination run wild.
The goal of the carnival is to engage young children in physical and educational activities as part of United Way’s goals to prepare kids for kindergarten and reduce childhood obesity.
Great booths will be colorful, challenging and active. More station ideas and pictures are available on the volunteergreatfalls.org website.
Make a Difference Day is Saturday, Oct. 25. The carnival will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For those who aren’t crafty, volunteers are also needed that day to help set up and clean up at this fun event.
Businesses can support the event by creating their own carnival game or providing gift cards or other prizes for kids.
