Who We Are
Mission: To create an efficient and effective digital platform that allows community members to help their neighbors in need.
My Neighbor in Need was founded by Dave Snuggs, who envisioned a system to connect people with specific needs to community members willing to help. Although the idea originated in 2001, it took over a decade for technology to catch up and make it a reality. In 2012, the platform launched, supported by Montana Farmers Union, to provide a free, dignified, and private way for individuals to request help. Initially serving Montana, the organization has since expanded to other states, creating a ripple effect of kindness and generosity. Rooted in the belief that everyone can make a difference, My Neighbor in Need empowers communities to come together to support their neighbors, fostering a culture of compassion and shared responsibility.
What We Do
My Neighbor in Need operates an online platform, www.myneighborinneed.org, where individuals can request assistance with specific needs. Community members can then pledge to fulfill these requests, creating meaningful connections. Volunteers, known as Good Deed Doers, facilitate these interactions, ensuring that donations and assistance are delivered effectively. By highlighting and fulfilling these needs, the organization demonstrates how small acts of kindness can transform lives and strengthen communities.
