Who We Are
Mission: To assist people with civil, non-criminal legal problems.
The Court Help Program is a free service through an initiative of the Montana Supreme Court designed to assist people with civil (non-criminal) legal problems. SHLCs are staffed with employees and volunteers trained to assist individuals through the provision of legal information regarding their case.
What We Do
Our goal is to give individuals the information they need to understand their legal rights and responsibilities and to help them resolve their legal problems on their own if they cannot afford an attorney or if they choose not to hire one. While we cannot give them legal advice or represent them in court, we can provide them with legal information and direct them to resources that will help them help themselves.
