Who We Are

Big Brothers Big Sisters has been serving children in Great Falls since 1976. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our vision is that all youth achieve their full potential.

What We Do

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Montana seeks to provide positive, professionally-supported mentoring relationships for all children who need or want them. These relationships contribute to better schools, brighter futures, and stronger communities for us all.

Our evidence-based programs build social and emotional support, confidence, and resilience that help to ensure young people are college and career ready and have a healthy physical and mental well being.

National research confirms that children matched in Big Brothers Big Sisters programs are more likely to excel and make better life choices, and we believe that every child can benefit from the additional support and insight a mentor can offer.

To facilitate successful relationships and overall safety, every mentoring match receives ongoing support from professional BBBS staff. Additionally, Bigs, Littles, and parents receive pre-match training related to successful mentoring, child safety, online safety, and healthy relationships.

We have monthly Microsoft Teams orientations - the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6pm, and the 3rd Thursday of the month at noon.

At a minimum, enrolling volunteers must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Have a respectable driving record;
  • Have no felony criminal record, nor have been convicted of any crimes involving children; and
  • Commit to a minimum of 12 months once matched with a child.
